Louis Comfort Tiffany Favrile decorated art glass vase, about 11 inches tall, signed, numbered and still carrying its original paper label.
The vase has a classic baluster shape with a short rolled neck and a stepped foot. Its satin butterscotch-gold ground has subtle vertical paneling. Around the shoulder runs a wide band of zipper decoration in shimmering violet, rose and gold iridescence, broken by diamond-shaped reserves in the yellow ground. Strands of gold iridescent beads hang down from the points of the band to a lower register of hooked peacock-feather decoration. That lower band is pulled into wave-like arches with pale “eye” reserves, and it shows deep gold iridescence and fine combed feathering.
