An exceptional early Tiffany Studios Favrile glass flower-form vase, c. 1894, rising 17 inches in a slender, organic "calyx" form that captures the essence of a single blossom on its stem. The tall, gently flaring neck opens in a soft tri-lobed lip reminiscent of an opening flower, executed in a luminous pale celadon-to-ivory opalescent glass.
The decoration is classic Tiffany pulled-feather work: deep green feathered plumes drawn upward from the base, tapering and narrowing through the slim stem before dissolving into the milky upper body. The technique gives the piece a vivid sense of natural growth, as though the glass itself were a living stem reaching skyward.
The vase rests on a wide, domed circular foot of richly iridescent gold Favrile glass, where green leaf-form tendrils radiate outward against shimmering amber, rose, and golden tones — a beautiful counterpoint to the cool green and ivory of the body.
The underside is signed LCT with the letter-prefix code B8018, consistent with Louis Comfort Tiffany's early Favrile production.
A graceful and dramatic example of Tiffany's early floriform vases, prized by collectors for their botanical elegance and the technical mastery of the pulled-feather decoration.
