An elegant iced tea glass from Tiffany Studios' Pastel line, produced at the Corona, New York works in the 1920s. The Pastel series marked a departure from Tiffany's earlier iridescent work — here the appeal is in translucency rather than surface luster, with soft, transparent color dissolving into a milky white opalescence.
The tall trumpet-form bowl rises from a slender stem, its optic-ribbed walls shading from a delicate violet at the flared rim down through pale pink and blue-white opalescence toward the base. Held to the light, the ribs catch and refract, producing the shifting rose-to-blue play characteristic of Tiffany's opalescent formula. The generous ruffled disc foot is drawn into scalloped lobes, each rib banded in a soft sky blue against opal white — a small tour de force of hand-manipulated glass, and the piece's most distinctive feature.
