A large, signed studio art glass vase by acclaimed American glass artist Randi Solin (Brattleboro, Vermont), from her celebrated Cintura series. Standing approximately 14 inches tall by 11 inches wide, this is a substantial, gallery-scale sculptural vessel — a true centerpiece.

Solin works glass "like a painter to canvas," layering glass powder, cane, frit, rod, and silver foil in the heat of the furnace to build extraordinary depth and color. This piece shows that signature style beautifully: a sweeping, organic teardrop form in warm amber and burnt-orange, plum, and soft blush-pink tones, divided by a vivid vertical "cintura" band of golden-yellow, green, and ruby shard work shot through with silver foil. The heavy blown body is finished with Solin's hallmark cut-and-polished lip, where the molten fluidity of the glass meets clean, sharp edges. As with all of her work, the coloration is original and entirely one-of-a-kind — no two pieces are alike.

Randi Solin is an internationally collected artist whose work is held in the permanent collections of the White House, several U.S. embassies, and the Beijing World Trade Center. Her Cintura sculptures and comparable large-format works retail through her studio and fine-craft galleries in the range of $2,800 to $4,500, with the Autumn Cintura sculpture currently listed at $4,300.
