An elegant matched pair of lamp shades from the renowned Steuben Glass Works of Corning, New York. These classic shades feature Steuben's celebrated Calcite glass—a warm ivory white art glass prized for its soft, luminous glow when illuminated.
Each shade displays a refined acid-etched decoration of cascading acanthus leaves and stylized foliate plumes, executed in the Neoclassical taste that defined sophisticated American interiors of the early 20th century. The etched pattern creates a beautiful frosted contrast against the smooth, creamy Calcite ground, producing subtle depth and visual elegance. The bell-form silhouette with flared rim and collar base represents a timeless design suited to a variety of period fixtures.
When lit, these shades emit the warm, diffused glow that made Steuben Calcite glass a favorite for fine residential and commercial lighting applications.
Both shades signed "Steuben"
Condition: One shade with minor flea bite chip near signature on fitter; not noticeable when installed
