Lalique "Duncan" Crystal Perfume Bottle — Pristine

One of the great Art Deco flacons. Designed by René Lalique in 1931, the Duncan collection pays tribute to Isadora Duncan, the American dancer who broke classical ballet open with her insistence on freedom of movement and drew her own inspiration from ancient Greek figures and their idea of harmony in the body. The bottle answers that idea directly: a frosted relief panel of dancing nudes, limbs and hair in motion, set at the heart of the piece.

The form is architectural. A flattened rectangular body in clear crystal, with stepped graduating frames pressed into the front and back, each tier catching light and drawing the eye inward toward the frosted figural panel at the center. The contrast between mirror-polished clear crystal and the soft matte relief is the entire design, and it's done with real restraint. The tall flat tablet stopper in fully frosted crystal sits on a ground plug and carries the vertical line of the piece to its full eight inches.

Substantial and heavy in the hand. This is a display flacon first — it holds a dresser, a vanity, or a shelf on its own.

In pristine condition: no chips, cracks, or repairs, no clouding, and no residue or wear to the neck or plug. Signed Lalique France in engraved script to the base.
