It has a squat, rounded form with a smooth incurved rim, and the iridescence covers both the inside and outside. The inside is especially striking, with flashes of cobalt, sapphire, violet, teal, and gold that change as the light moves across the bowl. The outside has a softer satin sheen in blue-green with gold highlights, and the shoulder turns lavender and purple near the base.

Carder co-founded Steuben in 1903 and developed Aurene soon after.
